JACK'S STACK JACK'S STACK
Jack Nicholson has played a stack of roles in a stack of good movies (55 or so), and won a stack of accolades (as well as awards – including three Oscars); this collection covers just a sample of his amazing and active career.
  JACKSON, PETER: A REVEALING EVENING
A slimmer & trimmer Peter Jackson got a standing ovation from 2,000 fans of his work on The Lord of The Rings after a revealing two hour conversation last Saturday at Sydney’s State Theatre, guided by David Stratton, talking about his filmmaking life, especially details of the birth and execution of the LOTR trilogy – interspersed with blooper footage from the set which has never (and will never) see the public light of day elsewhere.   JAMES CAMERON – AVATAR ON 3-D
Making Avatar, his first narrative film since Titanic (1997), James Cameron is a convert to 3-D and believes cinema could all be that good but people have been asking the wrong question – counting pixels and lines, that they have forgotten about frame rate - and losing out on marketing values and piracy negation. Here is how he sees it.

Urban reports on the making of the label-defying Japanese Story, Australia’s entry for Un Certain Regard at Cannes 2003, shot in the extremes of outback Australia. The Festival of Jewish Cinema celebrates its 20th Birthday this year with an collection of new features, documentaries plus encore screenings of some of the festival favourites that have screened over the last 20 years. Opening night film, A Matter of Size takes a comical look at Middle East politics and other ‘big issues’ as it follows the lives of four overweight friends.
